Darwen Food Larder
The Food Larder re-opened on Monday, 4th December 2023, after a temporary closure.
From when we re-open, we will only accept REFERRALS from recognised agencies.
The most important step is to get a REFERRAL.
We work with various referral partners in order for us to provide the best help for your current circumstances. A referral agency will ask you a few questions to see if a Food Larder referral is the best thing for you. Our current list of agencies includes:
- Social workers
- Housing providers
- Job Centre work coach
- Health professionals including GPs
- Drug & alcohol services
- Blackburn with Darwen Help Hub
- Support workers
- Education providers if you have an enrolled child i.e nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools and colleges
- Domestic violence services
- Shelter
- Children’s centres
WAIT FOR OUR PHONE CALL.
Once we have received your referral, one of our friendly telephone team will contact you to go through a few questions and to arrange a time for you to collect your food parcel.

Who We Are
Here at Darwen Food Larder, we know that sometimes we all need a little support. Since our founding in 1997, we have been determined to that no one in Darwen should go hungry. We work in conjunction with local businesses, charities and the Town Council; along with our churches and members of Darwen Medina Mosque.
Most of all, we are supported by the people of Darwen through their generosity and care for all of us who live in our wonderful town.
